Cruise Like A Norwegian!

CRUISE

Don’t let the name Norwegian Cruise Line deceive you, as there’s nothing but sun onboard Norwegian’s Getaway. Sailing out of Miami, the weeklong journey towards the Bahamas stops in St. Maarten, St. Thomas and the Bahamas. Since my jet setting days started, I’m often asked if I like cruising and the answer is YES. While filming this episode of Paradise Found, I have to admit there is nothing better than floating out in the open sea while having to work. However, even when I’m not working I enjoy the floating city lifestyle, the diversity of people the ships attract and most importantly, I can unpack just once! There’s a sense of comfort when you know you have 7 nights onboard and will likely get to eat at all the restaurants you want to, after exploring the port cities. This convenience definitely beats having to worry about finding the best restaurant in the port and scrambling through the tourist traps (however I don’t mind eating in the port cities either).

I am a busy traveler, meaning I don’t like to sit still all the time and the events onboard allow me to do as much or little as I want. With multiple activities occurring every hour or half hour throughout the ship, you could be busy all the time if you choose to be.  I loved participating in the trivia, karaoke, movies and of course the shows.  The evening entertainment was absolutely amazing- “Burn the Floor” and Tony Award winning “Legally Blonde- The Musical” was spectacular to watch and fun for all ages.

Norwegian Cruise Line offers several excursions in all the port cities and most of them still allow you enough to explore the city on your own. In St. Maarten I went on a day excursion that included snorkeling, lunch, drinks and some of the islands most beautiful beaches. In St. Thomas I went on a parasailing adventure and still had time to buy some souvenirs. In the Bahamas, I had always wanted to visit Atlantis to swim with the dolphins and this was made possible as well as discovering the underground world at the resort. I also recommend trying some of the local cuisine in the Bahamas, such as Conch fritters! Enjoy watching this video to see how accommodating Norwegian Cruise Line is for families, couples and even singles!
