Throughout the Macau skyline one building is very noticeable, the Macau Tower. The tower measures 338 m (1,109 ft) in height from ground level to the highest point. It contains an observation deck with panoramic views, restaurants, theaters, and shopping malls. It offers the best view of Macau and in recent years has been used for a variety of adventurous activities. Macau casino billionaire Stanley Ho Hung-Sun visited New Zealand and was so impressed by the Sky Tower that he had a similar one to be built in Macau. It opened in 2001 and contains one of the world’s tallest bungee jumps. I jumped off the Macau Tower TWICE! and boy was it a thrill. It really reminded me of walking the plank even though it was much scarier since I was so high up in the air and it was so windy! If you ever are thinking of a spot to bungee jump make sure you include the Macau tower on your list. It is the best!
Live Theater Shows
Of course, if you travel to Macau you should check out the gambling resorts and shows. The elaborate resorts have many shows, some of which are free. I attended the Tree of Prosperity show in the atrium of the Wynn casino and City of Dream’s Dragon’s Treasure show. Both shows are fabulous and worth the time.
